How to reduce expenses on gas and tires
In the present time commercial truck axels geometry in Ukraine is not being paid much attention to. Meanwhile incorrect axle position on a vehicle may lead to considerable losses.
For example 1 degree axle deviation results in 17,5 mm wandering per meter mileage. Naturally drivers usually keep to the track by steering in correct direction. We are not going to remind that it results in increasing fatigue for the driver and in its turn in car accidents. Let’s only talk about figures.
Generally speaking geometry deviation affects vehicle suspension. The driver doesn’t feel it, but with every run kilometer the trailer is being pulled aside (!) for 17,5 meters. Try to count how many kilometres does it run per haul? And per year?
European experts have already inspected the impact of defect axle geometry on truck maintenance. According to their statement 10mm/1 meter deviation from rolling direction (less than 1 degree deviation from parallel axles – barely noticeable) increases fuel consumption by 4,5-18%! And tread wear increases by a quarter. That all results in increasing losses – holder’s facilities flying in the air.
